The thirty-sixth season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between September 25, 2010, and May 21, 2011. This season also debuted a new animated feature voiced by former ''SNL'' cast members, called "Greetings from American America", created by former ''SNL'' head writer Fred Wolf. The thirty-fifth season of ''Saturday Night Live'' (also branded ''SNL 35''), an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between September 26, 2009, and May 15, 2010. A total of 22 episodes were broadcast during the show's eight-month-long season, which included a two-week break in February due to the 2010 Winter Olympics. The season was accompanied by three prime-time episodes of ''Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday'' and three prime-time ''SNL'' clip shows. A notable moment of the season was when an internet campaign was created to get actress Betty White to host an episode of the show. Tom Flanigan (writer)
Tom Flanigan is an American actor, writer and comedian. Biography Flanigan grew up in Eden, NY, south of Buffalo, NY, Buffalo in western New York (state), New York state. He attended the University of Iowa where he majored in Biomedical Engineering and was a member, director, and producer of the improvisational comedy troupe IC Improvs. Flanigan graduated with a Bachelor of Science, B.S. in 1996 and moved to Chicago, where he was employed by Andersen Consulting. The Second City

''Weekend Update'' is a ''Saturday Night Live'' sketch and satirical news program that comments on and parodies current events. It is the show's longest-running recurring sketch, having been on since the show's first broadcast, and is typically presented in the middle of the show immediately after the first musical performance.
