Saturday Night Live (season 28)
The twenty-eighth season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between October 5, 2002 and May 17, 2003. Cast Before the start of the season, longtime cast members Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer left the show. Ferrell, who had been a cast member for seven seasons since 1995, had left at the end of the previous season to pursue a career starring in films, while Gasteyer, who had been with the cast for six seasons since 1996, was on maternity leave during the break and decided not to return. Hired as new featured players were comedian and punk musician Fred Armisen and TV writer and comedian Will Forte (of The Groundlings). Armisen is the show's second Latino male cast member (Horatio Sanz being first), and also the second male cast member to have some Asian heritage (Rob Schneider being first). The twenty-seventh season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between September 29, 2001 and May 18, 2002. Eighteen days before the season started, the September 11 terrorist attacks took place in New York. The season premiere (hosted by Reese Witherspoon) went on as scheduled, with a special cold open featuring Rudy Giuliani, the Mayor of New York City at the time, along with firefighters from the FDNY and police officers from the NYPD, declaring that despite the terrorist attack, New York City will run as normal and ''Saturday Night Live'' will go on as planned (with Lorne Michaels asking Giuliani "Can we be funny?" and Giuliani replying "Why start now?"). Three weeks into the season the show faced another scare when anthrax was found in the GE Building (from where the show is broadcast). Jimmy Fallon

Soozie Tyrell (born May 4, 1957), formerly known as Soozie Kirschner, is an American violinist, guitarist, and vocalist, most known for her work with Bruce Springsteen in the E Street Band and formerly The Sessions Band. The E Street Band is an American rock band, and has been musician Bruce Springsteen's primary backing band since 1972. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
