Satoko Suetsuna
is a badminton player from Japan. Born in Ōita, Ōita Prefecture, she joined Renesas badminton club and later affiliated with Saishunkan team. She was a bronze medalist at the 2011 BWF World Championships with her partner Miyuki Maeda. Career Suetsuna has gained prominence in badminton through her success in women's doubles with her partner Miyuki Maeda, and the partnerships known by the Japanese media as "Suemae". Together they won the 2010 Denmark Open, their first major tournament victory. They went on to win the 2011 Malaysia Grand Prix Gold and the 2011 India Open. Suetsuna and Maeda also have two bronze medals from major competitions from making the semifinals at the 2011 London World Championships and 2010 Uber Cup in Kuala Lumpur. Badminton competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics were held from 9 August to 17 August at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium. Liliyana Natsir
Liliyana Natsir (born 9 September 1985) is an Indonesian former badminton player who specialized in doubles. She is one of the standout front court player, with dexterousness and skill in controlling and executing the shuttlecock. Natsir has tremendous record over more than two decade by winning a gold and a silver from the Olympic Games, and four gold medals at the BWF World Championships. Her achievements are recognized worldwide, and was inducted in the BWF Hall of Fame in 2022. Natsir was ranked world number 1 in the mixed doubles with two different partner. Vita Marissa
Vita Marissa (born 4 January 1981) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. Career Marissa competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in mixed doubles with partner Nova Widianto. They had a bye in the first round and defeated Robert Blair and Natalie Munt of Great Britain in the second. In the quarterfinals, Marissa and Widianto lost to Jens Eriksen and Mette Schjoldager of Denmark 15–12, 15–8. In September 2008 Marissa and her new partner Muhammad Rijal won in mixed doubles at the Japan Super Series after beating Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir 14–21, 21–15, 21–19 in the all Indonesian final. The Indonesia Open ( id, Indonesia Terbuka) in an annual badminton tournament organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) since 1982. It became part of the BWF Super Series tournament in 2007 and got the Super Series Premier status in 2011. BWF Superseries
The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007. Since 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of tournament, Super Series Premier and Super Series. A season of Super Series featured twelve tournaments around the world, including five of them classified as Super Series Premier. Super Series Premier tournament offers higher ranking point and higher minimum total prize money. Top eight players/pairs in each discipline in Super Series standings are invited to the Super Series Finals held at the year end. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales). Yu Yang (; born 7 April 1986) is a retired Chinese badminton player specializing in doubles. She is an Olympic Games gold medalist, three time World Champion and four time Asian Champion. Yu was part of the China winning team in four Sudirman Cup, three Uber Cup, two Asian Games, and in a Asia Team Championships. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. Career A doubles specialist, Yu and her regular partner Du Jing have steadily emerged as one of the world's elite women's doubles teams since 2004. Wang Xiaoli (; born 24 June 1989) is a Chinese badminton player who is a doubles specialist. In 2012, she competed at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Career In 2005, she joined the Chinese national second team and officially became the first team in 2008. Wang Xiaoli began her international career in 2009 when she paired with Tao Jiaming in mixed doubles and with Ma Jin in women's doubles. She quickly gained success with Ma Jin and culminated their career with a gold medal at the 2009 Asia Championships. In the middle of the 2010 season, Wang Xiaoli dropped mixed doubles from her repertoire of events and began competing in women's doubles with Yu Yang.
