Mananchira is a man-made freshwater pond situated in the centre of the city of Kozhikode (Calicut) in Kerala, southern India. The pond is 3.49 acres (14,120 m2) in area, is rectangular in shape and is fed by a natural spring. Beypore
Beypore or Beypur (formerly Beypoor) is an ancient port town and a locality town in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. It is located opposite to Chaliyam, the estuary where the river Chaliyar empties into Arabian Sea. Beypore is part of Kozhikode Municipal Corporation. The place was formerly known as Vaypura / Vadaparappanad and also as Beydary. Tippu Sultan, ruler of Mysore, named the town "Sultan Pattanam". Samoothiri Tower
Samoothiri Tower is a proposed multistorey tower located in the southern Indian city of Kozhikode. The tower will be built as the information centre for the tourism of Malabar. The tower will stand 62m tall when completed and will have a historic museum in the first two floors along with a viewing gallery on the 14th floor from which the panoramic views of the whole city can be enjoyed. The tower is named after the famous rulers of Calicut, the Samoothiri. The tower will be twinned with a garden which is in the name of Kunhali Marakkar and will also have an underground access from the nearby attraction Mananchira Square. Mavoor Road is the busiest High street of Kozhikode city in Kerala, India. This road connects the Mananchira pond area with the Kozhikode Medical College. After the medical college, the road is extended further to the little village of Mavoor but the term 'Mavoor Road' refers to the section between the city and the Medical college. Kottooly and Pottammal are two nearby junctions on the eastern side of Kozhikode city in India. They are at a distance of 650 meters. The Mavoor Road originates from Mananchira area in downtown Calicut and proceeds to Arayidathu-palam junction through the KSRTC bus station and the new bus station areas. Kottooly Junction After Arayidathupalam, Kottooly is the main junction where the road to the north is called K.T.Gopalan Road which connects to Vellimadukunnu area.
