Arun Sarnaik
Arun Shankarrao Sarnaik (4 October 1935 – 21 June 1984) was an Indian actor and singer from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He was the son of the famous singer "Maharashtrakokil" Pt. Shankarao Sarnaik and brother of famous classical singer "Pandit Nivruttibua Sarnaik" from Jaipur Atrauli Gharana (4 July 1912 – 16 February 1994). Career Arun Sarnaik completed his graduation from Ruia College in Mumbai. After graduation, he did some work in the engineering factory at Ichalkaranji. He entered the acting profession in 1956 as a stage actor in the Marathi play ''Bhatala Dili Osri'' by Mo. Ga. Rangnekar. In 1961 he made his movie debut with ''Shahir Parshuram'' made by Anant Mane. Later, he acted in few films like "Vardakshina" by Dinkar D Patil and "Vithu maza lekurwala" by Datta Dharmadhikari. He subsequently had lead roles in many Marathi movies starting in the black-and-white film era, and color. His song "Pratham tuj pahta" in the Marathi film ''Mumbaicha Jawai'' became popular. S ...

Pratap Sarnaik is a politician from Thane, Maharashtra, India. At present he is Member of the Legislative Assembly – Ovala-Majiwada (Vidhan Sabha constituency), Communication Leader- Mira Bhayander, Shivsena, Chairman- Vihang Group of companies, Founder & President- Sanskruti Yuva Pratishthan. Biography and political life Pratap Sarnaik was born in Maharashtra middle-class family in 1964 at Wardha to Indirabai & Baburao Sarnaik. His father Sri Baburao Sarnaik migrated to Mumbai. Pratap Sarnaik attended the Pendharkar College in Dombivli. A liking for social service made him join the Students Movement during his college days. Pratap Sarnaik started his political career with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He left the NCP in November 2008 and joined the Shiv Sena. Khemirao Sarnaik
Khemirao Sarnaik ( Hi: खेमीराव सरनाईक) also known as Kheni Sirnayak was a Koli Deshmukh of the Maval region in 1640s and had taken up arms against Mughal governor, Aurangzeb and abolished Jizya. he belongs to the Thorat clan of Mahadev Kolis of Maharashtra. When shivaji began his revolts in following decades, the kolis were amongst the first to join shivaji under Khemirao Sarnaik. The Koli community made a substantial contribution to the success of the Swarajya movement of Shivaji under Khemirao Sarnaik and shaked the Mughal rule. Aurangzeb put down the revolt mercilessly and made a pile of the heads cut off. The 'Koli Chabutra' in Purandar fort still stands as a monument to the Kolis' love of independence and their excitable temper.
