Sariosiyo District
Sariosiyo district ( uz, Sariosiyo tumani / Сариосиё тумани) is a district in Surxondaryo Region, Uzbekistan. Its capital is the town of Sariosiyo. It has an area of and its population is 213,200 (2021 est.). The district consists of one city (Shargʻun), 4 urban-type settlements (Sariosiyo, Yangihayot, Tortuli, Boʻyropoʻsht) and 9 rural communities ( Dashnobod, Navroʻz, Buyuk kelajak, Sangardak, Bogʻi iram, Soʻfiyon, Toqchiyon, Oʻzbekiston, Xufar). Sariosiyo district was founded on September 29, 1926. It was merged into Denov District on December 24, 1962, and re-established on February 22, 1964. The ''National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan'' ( uz, Oʻzbekiston milliy ensiklopediyasi, OʻzME in Latin script, Ўзбекистон миллий энциклопедияси, ЎзМЭ in Cyrillic script) is a general-knowledge encyclopedia written in Uzbek. The majority of the articles in the ''National Encyclopedia'' were directly taken from the '' Uzbek Soviet Encyclopedia''. While the ''Uzbek Soviet Encyclopedia'' was published in 14 volumes, the ''National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan'' has only 12, much smaller volumes. The first volume of the ''National Encyclopedia'' was published in 2000. The final 12th volume was published in 2005. History The ''National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan'' was published in Tashkent from 2000 to 2005 by the National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan State Scientific Publishing House. Uzbekistan Time
Uzbekistan time is the standard time in Uzbekistan; it is 5 hours ahead of UTC, UTC+05:00. The standard time uses no daylight saving time, though there has been constant debate whether to adopt it in order to increase leisure time. After the breakup of the Soviet Union there were two time zones in Uzbekistan. In the Soviet era most time zones were daylight time in the winter and double daylight time in the summer. The western part of the country observed Samarkand Time 5 or 6 hours ahead of UTC. The eastern part observed Tashkent Time 6 or 7 hours ahead of UTC. In 1991 the clocks did not move forward in the spring to maintain single daylight time only in the summer. That fall a unified time zone was adopted 5 hours ahead of UTC.
