Sari Van Veenendaal
Sari van Veenendaal (; born 3 April 1990) is a Dutch former professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for PSV and captained the Netherlands national team. She was part of the Netherlands squad that won UEFA Women's Euro 2017. Club career The Netherlands Born in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, Van Veenendaal firstly played as a professional footballer in 2007 for FC Utrecht, as an understudy to Angela Christ. In 2010, she moved to FC Twente. Whilst featuring for the Tukkers, Van Veenendaal won the Eredivisie of the 2010–11 season. She was also successful in picking up the BeNe League titles of 2013, 2014 and 2015 in all. Arsenal Van Veenendaal signed for the English club Arsenal in 2015. In her first season there, Arsenal won the 2015 FA WSL Cup. Next season, Arsenal won the 2016 FA Women's Cup with the club beating Chelsea 1–0 in the final. BeNe League
The BeNe League was the highest women's football league in Belgium and the Netherlands. To increase competitiveness in their national leagues, the BeNe League was a joint cooperation between the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Royal Dutch Football Association. Its first season was played in 2012–13 following the successful cooperation with the one match BeNe Super Cup, that paired both countries' national champions. The competition qualified the highest-placed Belgian and Dutch teams to the UEFA Women's Champions League. The Switzerland women's national football team represents Switzerland in international women's football. The team played its first match in 1972. Switzerland qualified for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada by winning their qualifying group. It was the first time that Switzerland participated in a women's World Cup, and the first time both the men's team and women's team qualified for a World Cup simultaneously. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. 2017–18 FA WSL Cup
The 2017–18 FA WSL Cup was the 7th edition of the FA WSL's league cup competition. It was sponsored by Continental AG, who have sponsored the competition since its creation, and is officially known as the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup. All 20 teams of the two divisions of the WSL contest the competition - the largest field in the history of the cup. Manchester City were the defending champions. Before the competition, only Manchester City and Arsenal had won the cup in the previous six seasons it was contested in. The Women's FA Challenge Cup Competition is the top annual cup tournament for women's clubs in English football. Founded in 1970, it has been named the WFA Cup, FA Women's Cup and now Women's FA Cup (Vitality Women's FA Cup for sponsorship reasons). Designed as an equivalent to the FA Cup in men's football, the competition began in 1970–71 as the Mitre Challenge Trophy, organised by the Women's Football Association (WFA). The FA Women's League Cup is a league cup competition in English women's association football. 2015 FA WSL
The 2015 season of the Women's Super League was the fifth season of the FA WSL, the top-level women's football league of England. The season was played from 25 March to 4 October. Liverpool were the defending champions from the 2014 FA WSL. Chelsea became the title winners and together with Manchester City (who finished as runners-up) qualified for the 2016–17 UEFA Women's Champions League. This was the second season since the WSL 2 was introduced. As part of a two-year expansion plan, the WSL 1 will increase to nine teams for the 2016 season.
