Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), also known as Lake House. Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited is a public limited liability company incorporated in Sri Lanka in 1926 by its founder D. R. Wijewardena. 75% of its shares were Nationalized under the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Special Provisions) Law No. 28 of 1973 and this stake is held by the Public Trustee of Sri Lanka on behalf of the Government. Sarasaviya Awards
''Sarasaviya Awards'' (Sinhala:සරසවිය සම්මාන) is an award bestowed to distinguished individuals involved with the Sinhala cinema, each year by the Sarasaviya weekly newspaper in collaboration with the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House), Sri Lanka in recognition of the contributions made by them to the Sri Lankan film industry. The Sarasaviya ceremony is one of the oldest film events in Sri Lanka. The awards were first introduced in 1964. The Sarasaviya Awards have been often referred to as the Sinhala Cinema industry's equivalent to The Oscars. Nadeeka Guruge
Nadeeka Guruge ( si, නදීක ගුරුගේ) is one of the most influential composers in Sri Lankan music. Biography "I grew up with the guitar and the guitar speaks at this concert" says Nadeeka on his concerts titled ''Nostal Guitar Electrica 2015'' and 'Echo in the Mountains'. Aba (film)
''Aba'' is a 2008 Sinhalese film directed by Jackson Anthony and co-produced by Justin Belagamage and Rajindra Jayasinghe for Chandrakini Creations. The title is derived from ''Pandu Aba'', another name for the title character. Anthony’s son, Sajitha Anthony, portrays Pandukabhaya. The film also features Malini Fonseka, Ravindra Randeniya, Sriyantha Mendis, Sabeetha Perera and many other popular actors. It was released in Sri Lanka on 8 August 2008. ''Uppalawanna'' ( si, උප්පලවන්ණා) is a 2007 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama philosophical film directed by Sunil Ariyaratne and produced by Milinia Sumathipala for Sumathi Films. It stars Sangeetha Weeraratne and Malini Fonseka in lead roles along with Roshan Ravindra and Chandani Seneviratne. Music composed by Navaratne Gamage. It is the 1165th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. The film has been shot in and around Thanthirimale. Plot Set during the 1987–89 JVP insurrection, Ratnapala (Jagath), a student at the University of Colombo and former member of the JVP, comes to visit his mother in Anuradhapura. Deshamanya Kala Keerthi Dr.Premasiri Khemadasa ( Sinhala: ආචාර්ය ප්‍රේමසිරි කේමදාස ) (25 January 1937 – 24 October 2008) also known as "Khemadasa Master" was a Sri Lankan music composer. Exploring the various styles of music around the world Khemadasa endeavoured to develop a unique style of music. He combined Sinhala folk tunes, Hindustani music, Western music and many other streams of music in his compositions while adapting them to fit contemporary music.
