Sarah Yeiser Mason
Sarah Y. Mason (March 31, 1896 – November 28, 1980) was an American screenwriter and script supervisor.Vazzana, Eugene Michael (2001). ''Silent Film Necrology.'' McFarland, Biography Mason was born Sarah Yeiser Mason in Pima, Arizona. She and her husband Victor Heerman won the Academy Award for best screenplay adaptation for their adaptation for the 1933 film ''Little Women'', based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott. After that success, she and Heerman were the first screenwriters involved in early, never-produced scripts commissioned for what would become MGM's ''Pride and Prejudice'' (1940 film). Pima, Arizona
Pima is a town in Graham County, Arizona, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the town was 2,387, up from 1,989 in 2000. The estimated population in 2018 was 2,512. Pima is part of the Safford Micropolitan Statistical Area. Despite its name, it is not located in nearby Pima County. This is a similar situation to the town of Maricopa, Arizona, which is not located in Maricopa County but rather in Pinal County. History Pima was settled by Mormon settlers in 1879. It was originally named "Smithville". The first settlers had been living in Forrest Dale, but then were told they had to leave because the location was on Indian land. Unlike other Mormon settlements of the era, Smithville was not planned by the leaders of the church. Joseph K. Lester Koenig (December 3, 1917 – November 20, 1977) was an American screenwriter, film producer, and founder of the jazz record label Contemporary Records. Biography Koenig was born to a Jewish family in New York City, the son of Minna (Harlib) and Morris Koenig. His father was a judge; his brother was advertising executive Julian Koenig. As a child, he collected records and was introduced to the record producing business by John H. Hammond who served as his mentor. He attended Dartmouth College where he was friends with Budd Schulberg, son of B.P. Schulberg, the head of production at Paramount film studios. After Dartmouth, he attended Yale Law School but was forced to drop out after his father's death.
