Sarah Price (swimmer)
Sarah Jane Price (born 19 April 1979) is a female English former backstroke swimmer. Swimming career Price represented Great Britain in the Olympics and European championships, and competed for England in the Commonwealth Games. She began her swimming career at the Potters Bar club, and turned professional aged 15. She set her first British record in 1997 in the 50-metre backstroke. She also swam for Barnet Copthall Swimming Club, before ending her career at Loughborough University. In 2001, at the European Short Course Swimming Championships, Price set a world record in the 200-metre backstroke winning gold. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, she won gold medals in the 100-metre and 200-metre backstroke races, and bronze in the 50-metre race and the 4×100-metre medley relay. Sarah Price (born 1970) is an American filmmaker, director and producer known for the feature documentary ''American Movie'' (1999 Winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, released by Sony Pictures Classics). Price is a member of the Directors Guild of America. Early life Price spent the first five years of her life in London, England, her early school years in the American Midwest and East Coast, and later attended high school at the International Schools in Frankfurt, Germany and Nairobi, Kenya. Price was educated at the University of Iowa. Sarah Price is a Christian fiction novelist and adult and children's author of over 40 books. Much of her writing focuses on the Anabaptist heritage and the Old Order Amish. Her paternal grandparents, Sarah Marie Alderfer and Harlan Nice, were born into an Old Order Mennonite Church in Pennsylvania in the early 1900s. With her Anabaptist upbringing, Price was drawn to the culture of the Amish of Lancaster County where she has connections with Amish communities. Most recently, Price has adapted the Jane Austen books into an Amish setting. She went to Drew University in Madison, New Jersey to study anthropology and holds three other advanced degrees. Sarah Frances Price
Sarah Frances Price (1849 – 3 July 1903) was an American botanist and scientific illustrator. Price discovered many rare plants and is credited with classifying a large portion of Kentucky's flora. Also an artist, she drew about fifteen hundred southern plants in pencil and watercolor. Biography Price was born in 1849 in Evansville, Indiana, the third child of Alexander Price and Maria Price. Soon after Price was born, her family moved to Kentucky. With the onset of the American Civil War, the family moved to Indiana and taught at church-run schools including the Episcopal Church school St. Agnes Hall. At the end of the Civil War, the Prices returned to Bowling Green, Kentucky. During her career, Price published over forty scientific papers. A lifelong botanist, she had a private herbarium with about 2000 plants in it. Several of her drawings were showcased at the World's Columbian Exposition, where she won several awards. Sarah (Sally) Lois Price (born 1956) is Professor of Physical Chemistry at University College London. Sarah (Sally) Price Education Price was educated at the University of Cambridge, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977 followed by a PhD in 1980. Her doctoral research modelled the intermolecular forces between diatomic molecules and was supervised by Anthony Stone.
