Sarah Platt
Sarah-Louise Barlow (also Platt, Tilsley and Grimshaw) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''. She was born on-screen during the episode broadcast on 2 February 1987. She was played by Leah King in 1987 and by Lynsay King from 1987 until 8 October 1999 when King opted to leave to focus on her education. Tina O'Brien took over the role on 31 October 1999; she opted to leave in 2007 and made her final on-screen appearance on 30 December 2007, although she made some brief voice-over appearances the following month. A number of false rumours about O'Brien returning to the role surfaced during her absence from the serial. In October 2014, it was announced that O'Brien would reprise the role, with Sarah returning on 30 March 2015. ''Coronation Street'' is an English soap opera created by Granada Television and shown on ITV since 9 December 1960. The programme centres around a cobbled, terraced street in Weatherfield, a fictional town based on inner-city Salford. Bert Tilsley
This is a list of characters that first appeared in ''Coronation Street'' in 1979. Bert Tilsley Herbert Harrison "Bert" Tilsley (though referred to as “Albert Tilsley” in the episode of 21 September 1981) was played by Peter Dudley. He was the first husband of Ivy Brennan (Lynne Perrie) and the father of Brian Tilsley (Christopher Quinten). Prior to his debut in 1979, Ivy had referred to her husband as 'Jack' and mentioned that they were childless. Christopher Quinten
Christopher Quinten (born Christopher Bell; 12 July 1957) is a British actor, best known for his role as Brian Tilsley on '' Coronation Street'', which he played from 1978 to 1989. Career Quinten started his career as a dancer in West End productions, including the Victoria Palace with Cilla Black and Jimmy Tarbuck. He turned to acting and had his first role in the 1978 film '' International Velvet'', starring Tatum O'Neal. This appearance led to small parts in television series including ''Quatermass'' and '' Hazell'', and was also noticed by the ''Coronation Street'' casting offices, who gave Ivy Tilsley, the oft-seen Baldwin's worker, a son. Helen Worth (born Cathryn Helen Wigglesworth; 7 January 1951) is an English actress. She is best known for portraying the role of Gail Platt in the ITV soap opera, ''Coronation Street'', a role that she has played since 1974.
