Sarah Masen
Sarah Masen is an American singer-songwriter originally from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. For several years she has lived in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, the author David Dark, and their three children. Initially signed to Charlie Peacock's re:think label, and subsequently to Word Records, she is now independent. As a songwriter, she has collaborated with Béla Fleck, Julie Lee and Sam Ashworth. Background In 1998 she released ''Carry Us Through'', and in 1999 BEC Recordings reissued ''The Holding'' as a Sarah Masen solo album. After the release of ''The Dreamlife of Angels'' in 2001, Masen did not release her own new material for six years, although in 2004 she did contribute two tracks to the album ''Stars and Sirens'' by Pristina, a collective of female artists teamed with the producer Joey B. of The Echoing Green. ''Sarah Masen'' is the first major-label studio album by the singer/songwriter Sarah Masen, released on June 25, 1996. It is her second album, overall. Critical reception Rodney Batdorf of AllMusic writes that, "Sarah Masen's self-titled album showcases her emotional, moving vocals, as well as her evocative lyrics." and finishes with, "the album suggests that she'll blossom into one of the most creative and lovely CCM talents of the latter-half of the '90s." This album peaked at no. 27 on October 12, 1996 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums. Royal Oak is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. An inner-ring suburb of Detroit, Royal Oak is about north of Detroit's city limits. Jon Foreman
Jonathan Mark Foreman (born October 22, 1976) is an American musician, the lead singer, guitarist, main songwriter and co-founder of the alternative rock band Switchfoot. He started Switchfoot in 1996 with drummer Chad Butler and his brother Tim Foreman on bass guitar. Jerome Fontamillas and Drew Shirley later joined the band. Personal life Foreman was born in San Bernardino County, California, but his family moved to Massachusetts and Virginia Beach during his childhood. There he became fast friends with Todd Cooper, who encouraged him to learn guitar. Cooper was later a guitar tech for Switchfoot, although he left in 2005 to pursue his own musical career. Switchfoot is an American rock band from San Diego, California. The band's members are Jon Foreman (lead vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals), Chad Butler (drums, percussion), and Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals). The Echoing Green (band)
The Echoing Green is an electronic music and synthpop band. It began as a duo between Joey Belville and Aaron Bowman in 1992, and has since released eleven major albums. History Belville, a devout Christian, created the band with a focus on faith and self-funding rather than having label. Their lyrics are infused with a strong element of faith and biblical themes. Christian artists also make occasional appearances. For instance, Riki Michele provided vocals on "Defend Your Joy", though she was uncredited for the part. A remix of the song "Oxygen" from ''Hope Springs Eternal'' appeared on the Sci-Fi Channel's show '' First Wave''. Julie Lee is a singer/songwriter originally from Maryland now living in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a member of the band Old Black Kettle, with Sarah Siskind, and has collaborated with Sarah Masen, Ron Block, Mike Farris, Vince Gill, Tim O'Brien, & Kenny Vaughan. Her songs have been covered by a wide range of artists, but most notably Alison Krauss with "Away Down the River" and "Jacob's Dream" (the story of the Lost Children of the Alleghenies) appearing on Krauss' album, '' A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection'' (2007).
