Sarah Evans (born 12 April 1991) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Surbiton and has represented the England and Great Britain national teams. Evans was educated at Kingston Grammar School and University of Birmingham . Club career She plays club hockey in the Women's England Hockey League Premier Division for Surbiton and she is the First Team Captain. Evans also played for University of Birmingham from 2009 to 2012. International career She made her senior international debut for England v South Africa in the 2013 Women's Hockey Investec Cup, on 4 February 2013. One year later she made her senior international debut for Great Britain v USA in a test match in San Diego, California, on 10 February 2014. She was selected to play in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018. United States Women's National Field Hockey Team
The United States women's national field hockey team, represents the United States in international field hockey. The team is currently coached by Anthony Farry. It made its first international appearance in 1920 when a touring team visited England, coached by Constance M.K. Applebee. The team made several international appearances in the early 20th century, leading to the United States hosting the eighth International Federation of Women's Hockey Associations Tournament in 1963. Once the IFWHA merged with its counterpart on the men's side, the United States' first appearance at an FIH-sanctioned tournament was the 1983 Women's Hockey World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the Americans ended up in sixth place. Field Hockey At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's field hockey tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the eleventh edition of the field hockey event for women at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held from 24 July to 6 August 2021. All games were played at the Oi Hockey Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. It was originally scheduled to be held from 25 July to 7 August 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. The Netherlands won their fourth title, after winning the final 3–1 over Argentina. The defending champions Great Britain won the bronze medal after defeating India 4–3 in the bronze medal game.
