Sarah Daniels (playwright)
Sarah Daniels (born November 1956 in London) is a British dramatist. She has been a prolific writer since her first professionally performed play, ''Ripen Our Darkness'', was given a production at the Royal Court in 1981. Career Daniels' playwriting career took off after she sent in a script to the Royal Court Theatre in London for reading and spent a year as the writer-in-residence of Sheffield University’s English department. Since the early 1980s, her plays have appeared at other venues including the National Theatre, the Battersea Arts Centre, the Crucible, Sheffield and Chicken Shed. Her play ''Neaptide'' premiered at the National Theatre in London in 1986. She has also written episodes of the soap-operas '' EastEnders'' and '' Holby City'' and the long-running BBC children's series ''Grange Hill''. Daniels was involved in the "Video Nasties" censorship debate of the 1980s; in her 1983 play ''Masterpieces'', she mistakenly described the low-budget horror film ''Snu ... Sarah Daniels is an American actress, singer, and Video game live streaming, Twitch streamer. Early life Sarah Daniels was born in Tallahassee, Florida to John and Adrienne and has one older sister Alyssa. Daniels grew up in Celebration, Florida where from the age of three she was enrolled into dance lessons which she continues with today. At the age of 12, Daniels was offered her first national tour in "Bear in the Big Blue House Live", which was a nine-month tour of the eastern and southern United States. Clean Break (theatre Company)
Clean Break is a feminist theatre company started in 1979 by Jenny Hicks and Jackie Holborough, while inmates of HMP Askham Grange. They expanded the prison's annual Christmas show into Efemera, a two-hour show about prison life. It was later performed for a two-night run at York Arts Centre, which made its 21 cast members the first British prisoners to perform onstage outside of a prison. Upon their release Hicks and Holborough formed the theatre company, Clean Break in order to tell the hidden stories of women in prison. The company also organises residencies in women's prisons in the UK, using directors, playwrights and actors to work with inmates to create their own work. In 1998 the company moved from its base in Camden to a refurbished building in Kentish Town. The playwright Lucy Kirkwood, was writer in residence at Clean Break. ''15 Minute Drama'', previously known as ''Woman's Hour Drama'', was a BBC Radio 4 Arts and Drama production strand that was broadcast between 1998 and 2021.
