Sara Strauss (born 12 August 2002) is a German field hockey player. Career Club level In club competition, Strauss plays for Düsseldorfer in the German Bundesliga. National teams Under–18 Felicia Wiedermann made her international debut for Germany at U–18 level. She represented the team at the 2021 edition of the EuroHockey Youth Championship in Valencia. The Indian women's national field hockey team (nicknamed the ''Nabhvarna'') represents India in international field hockey, and is governed by Hockey India. Nabhvarna are currently ranked 6th in the FIH World Rankings, and are ranked as the best team in Asia. They have won the gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and 1982 Asian Games. They have also won the Women's Asia Cup twice, i.e. in 2004 and 2017. They also won the Asian Champions Trophy in 2016. Women's FIH Pro League
The Women's FIH Pro League is an international women's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Women's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the Olympic Games. The first edition was started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years. Format Nine teams will compete in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from January to June, with the top four teams advancing to the grand final at a pre-determined location. In July 2017, Hockey India decided to withdraw both the men's and women's national teams from the competition as they estimated the chances of qualifying for the Summer Olympics to be higher when participating in the Hockey Series. Potchefstroom (, colloquially known as Potch) is an academic city in the North West Province of South Africa. It hosts the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University. 2022 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup
The 2022 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup is the ninth edition of the Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, the biennial women's under-21 field hockey world championship organized by the International Hockey Federation. It was scheduled to be held from 5 to 16 December 2021 in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Because of a new COVID-19 variant, the tournament was put on hold on 26 November 2021 and later postponed, with the option to be hosted by South Africa. On 10 January 2022 it was announced the tournament will take place from 2 to 13 April 2022 at the original venue. In February the tournament was moved one day forward to start on 1 and end on 12 April 2022. Argentina were the defending champions. They were defeated 4–1 in the quarter-finals by Germany.
