Santiago Saura Martínez De Toda
Santiago Saura Martínez de Toda (born 1974) is a Spanish engineer, professor and politician. Member of the Madrid City Council since 2019, he serves as councillor-president of the district of Retiro. Biography Born in Oviedo in 1974. He earned a PhD from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), reading a dissertation titled ''Influencia de la escala en la configuración del paisaje: mediante un nuevo método de simulación espacial, imágenes de satélite y cartografías temáticas'' in 2001, supervised by Francisco Javier Martínez Millán. He became a member of Citizens–Party of the Citizenry (Cs) in 2006, while he was working as lecturer at the University of Lleida. He obtained a chair as full professor in Forestry Engineering at the UPM. José Luis Martínez-Almeida
José Luis Martínez-Almeida Navasqüés (born 17 April 1975) is a Spanish state lawyer and politician. A member of the People's Party (PP), he has been a member of the Madrid City Council since 2015 and has been Mayor of Madrid since 2019. Biography Martínez-Almeida was born in Madrid on 17 April 1975. His grandfather Pablo Martínez-Almeida y Nacarino was a member of the Privy Council of the Count of Barcelona, he is the youngest of the six children of Rafael Martínez-Almeida y León y Castillo and Ángela Navasqüés Cobián. He studied at the Retamar School in Pozuelo de Alarcón, linked to the Opus Dei. ''ABC'' () is a Spanish national daily newspaper. It is the second largest general-interest newspaper in Spain, number one in Madrid, and the oldest newspaper still operating in Madrid. Hortaleza
Hortaleza is one of the 21 districts of the city of Madrid, Spain. History Origin The first recorded human activity in the area of Hortaleza was the existence of a nomadic or semi-nomadic population in the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras, as attested to by the findings of numerous prehistoric tools in sites in the Valdebebas stream and in the historical center of Hortaleza itself, which were discovered at the end of the 19th century by the archaeologist Dr. Javier Pastor Muñoz. The current neighborhood of Hortaleza developed from the old town of , located on the hill formed between the Manzanares and Jarama rivers. The village was supplied with water by two streams, the Valdebebas and the Abroñigal. The town was most probably founded in the 13th century, with written attestation of it by 1361. The People's Party ( es, Partido Popular ; known mostly by its acronym, PP ) is a conservative and Christian-democratic political party in Spain. The People's Party was a 1989 re-foundation of People's Alliance (AP), a party led by former minister of the dictatorship Manuel Fraga and founded back in 1976 as alliance of post-Francoist proto-parties.
