Santiago Rodríguez Masagó
Santiago Rodríguez Masagó (c. 1809 – 27 May 1879), also known as Santiago Rodríguez, nicknamed "Chago" was a Dominican military leader. Little is known of his birth but sources suggest that he was either born in Cap-Haïtien or the area of Fort-Liberté (in a part where it is present day Dajabón). He is known for having opposed the annexation of the Dominican Republic to Spain and then having fought the Spanish Crown; and for being one of the rebels of the famous ''El Grito de Capotillo'' that began the Dominican Restoration War with General Gregorio Luperón. Santiago Rodríguez () is a province in the northwest region of the Dominican Republic. It was split from Monte Cristi in 1948. The Santiago Rodríguez province has the Monte Cristi and Valverde provinces to the north, the Santiago province to the east, the San Juan and Elías Piña provinces to the south and the Dajabón province to the west. Geography The province of Santiago Rodríguez presents a rugged relief with characteristics such as mountains, forests, hills, savannas and valleys all around. To the north, and separating it from the great Cibao valley, a formation composed of xerophilous vegetation known as the "Sierra Zamba" is observed. Wide canyons formed by the two rivers that drain the area, the Cana and the Gurabo, have formed and shaped a landscape composed of narrow gorges and ravines that embellish the topography of the region. Santiago Rodriguez (born February 16, 1952) is a Cuban-American pianist. Santiago Mariano Rodríguez Molina (born 8 January 2000) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for New York City FC. Club career Rodríguez is a youth academy graduate of Nacional. He made his official debut for the club on 4 February 2019 in 2019 Supercopa Uruguaya win against Peñarol. On 3 November 2020, Montevideo City Torque confirmed they had signed Rodríguez, with the midfielder remaining at Nacional for the rest of the year.
