Santiago Damián Homenchenko Bianchi (born 30 August 2003) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga MX side Pachuca. Early life Homenchenko was born on 30 August 2003 in the capital city of Mercedes in the Soriano Department, Uruguay. Homenchenko grew up in a working-class family of paternal Ukrainian and maternal Italian descent. The youngest of ten siblings, Homenchenko promised his mother, who was diagnosed with cancer, at the age of six that he would become a professional footballer. In an interview describing his upbringing, Homenchenko said, "We spent nights without eating, relying on milk with rice or sweet cornstarch, but those things give you personality. ..When I left Danubio at 15, I had to work, because my mother had no money. We were poor, but we weren't sad. I worked to buy my clothes, but we just had what we needed. That confronts you with reality." Néstor Goncálvez Martinicorena (27 April 1936 – 29 December 2016) was a Uruguayan footballer who played as a midfielder for Uruguay in the 1962 and 1966 FIFA World Cups. He mainly played for C.A. Peñarol and is considered to have been one of the best South American midfielders of the 1960s. Born in Cabellos, Artigas, Gonçalvez began his career playing football for Salto from 1953 to 1956. In 1957, he joined Peñarol, where he played until 1970. Personal life Gonçalves' son, Jorge Gonçalves, was also a professional footballer. Marcelo Alberto Bielsa Caldera (, nicknamed ''El Loco Bielsa'' , meaning "The Crazy Bielsa"; born 21 July 1955) is an Argentine professional football manager who was most recently the head coach of Premier League club Leeds United. Football competitions at the 2022 South American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay were held between 4 and 12 October 2022 at the Complejo de Fútbol located within the Parque Olímpico cluster in Luque, a sub-venue apart from Asunción. Two medal events were scheduled to be contested: a men's and women's tournament. A total of 252 athletes (144 athletes–8 teams for men and 108 athletes–6 teams for women) competed in the events.
