Santhià (; pms, Santià or ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the province of Vercelli in the Italian region Piedmont, located about northeast of Turin and about northwest of Vercelli. Santhià is home to a historic carnival named the ''Carnevale Storico di Santhià'', held since the 14th century. Santhia ( bn, সাঁথিয়া) is an upazila of Pabna District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Geography Santhia is located at . It has 46,745 households and a total area of 331.56 km2. Santhia has some forest-like areas with wild animals like foxes, mongooses, wild cats, etc. But these woods and animals are on the verge of extinction because of hunting and slash-and-burn. Ignatius of Santhià (5 June 1686 – 22 September 1770), born Lorenzo Maurizio Belvisotti, was an Italian Roman Catholic priest and a professed member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. Belvisotti made it his mission to help penitents in the sacrament of Reconciliation and also devoted himself to the care of the ill. He gained a strong reputation for the humble and austere nature of his life in addition to the application of the Franciscan charism in his life which served as a model for thousands.
