History The Santa Rosa Police Department was formed on April 1, 1867, one year before the incorporation of the City of Santa Rosa in 1868. Finley who merged his ''Evening Press'' and Thomas Thompson's ''Sonoma Democrat'' (originally created as a voice for the Democratic Party). San Quentin Prison
San Quentin State Prison (SQ) is a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation state prison for men, located north of San Francisco in the unincorporated place of San Quentin in Marin County.
