Santa Monica College
Santa Monica College (SMC) is a Public university, public, community college in Santa Monica, California. Founded as a Junior college#United States, junior college in 1929, SMC enrolls over 30,000 students in more than 90 fields of study. Although initially serving primarily pre-college Secondary education in the United States, high school students, the college quickly expanded its enrollment to educate college-age students and non-traditional students with the primary intention to transfer to a four-year university. It is one of the few schools which has high transfer rates to four-year universities such as the University of California, Universities of California or California State University, California State Universities. Today, two-thirds of students at Santa Monica College are enrolled part-time. Barker's Beauties
The American television game show ''The Price Is Right'' has, since its 1972 relaunch, employed a number of models to showcase the prizes and items that are given away on the show. From 1972 to 2007, the group was referred to as "Barker's Beauties", in reference to Bob Barker, who hosted the show during that period. History 1956–65 The original '' Price Is Right'' also employed models. Usually, two models appeared per episode to model the prizes, much in the same tradition as the later incarnations. As is the case with the Carey era of the current version, the models were not referred to specifically by a nickname. June Ferguson and Toni Wallace were the regular models, staying with the program for its entire nine year run. Dustin Hoffman
Dustin Lee Hoffman (born August 8, 1937) is an American actor and filmmaker. As one of the key actors in the formation of New Hollywood, Hoffman is known for his versatile portrayals of antiheroes and emotionally vulnerable characters. He is the recipient of numerous accolades including two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, four British Academy Film Awards, three Drama Desk Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. Josh Haden (born 1968 in New York City) is an American musician and singer. He is the founder, bassist and singer of the group Spain. Haden is the son of the late Charlie Haden. Career Haden is the founder, bassist and singer of the group Spain, whose first album, ''The Blue Moods of Spain'', appeared on Restless Records to wide acclaim. The band toured extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, attracting considerable notice. Other credits include Handsome Boy Modeling School (on which he performed a duet with Sean Lennon). Twilight (2008 Film)
Twilight is light produced by sunlight scattering in the upper atmosphere, when the Sun is below the horizon, which illuminates the lower atmosphere and the Earth's surface. The word twilight can also refer to the periods of time when this illumination occurs. The lower the Sun is beneath the horizon, the dimmer the twilight (other factors such as atmospheric conditions being equal). When the Sun reaches 18° below the horizon, the twilight's brightness is nearly zero, and evening twilight becomes nighttime. When the Sun again reaches 18° below the horizon, nighttime becomes morning twilight. Owing to its distinctive quality, primarily the absence of shadows and the appearance of objects silhouetted against the lit sky, twilight has long been popular with photographers and painters, who often refer to it as the blue hour, after the French expression ''l'heure bleue''. Andrea Fay Friedman (born June 1, 1970) is an American film and television actress, who has Down syndrome. Early life Friedman attended West Los Angeles Baptist High School and Santa Monica College. In 1992, she portrayed Amanda, the girlfriend (and later wife) of the character Charles "Corky" Thacher, on the TV show '' Life Goes On'' for two seasons. In 1993 she appeared in an episode of ''Baywatch'', in which Mary Lou Retton organizes a Special Olympics-like event. She starred in the 1997 film ''Smudge'' as Cindy, a girl in a group home for people with disabilities who attempts to hide her puppy, Smudge. Emma Ferreira (born 14 December 1975) is an English contemporary artist, sculptor, photographer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She lives and works in Los Angeles and maintains a studio in Culver City, California. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in London, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and Barcelona and is characterized by an expressive application of color, as well as rich textures and movement. William Scott "Jack" Elam (November 13, 1920 – October 20, 2003) was an American film and television actor best known for his numerous roles as villains in Western films and, later in his career, comedies (sometimes spoofing his villainous image). His most distinguishing physical quality was his misaligned eye. Before his career in acting, he took several jobs in finance and served two years in the United States Navy during World War II. Clifford Glen Eidelman (born December 5, 1964) is an American composer and conductor who has scored films including '' Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country'', '' Free Willy 3: The Rescue'', and '' Christopher Columbus: The Discovery''. Biography One of the few Los Angeles-born composers, Cliff Eidelman (born 1964) began his formal musical training at the age of 8, studying the violin. A few years later he switched to guitar as his main instrument and began performing and writing songs for his band, playing at local Los Angeles clubs before age 14. Daniel de Weldon is an American actor, screenwriter, director and producer. de Weldon is a native of Washington, D.C. and Newport, Rhode Island. He is the son of sculptor Felix de Weldon, known for the Marine Corps War Memorial statue of the flag raising at Iwo Jima, official United States Presidential busts of John F. Kennedy and President Harry S. Truman. After completing a six-year masters program in Theatrical Arts under Uta Hagen and Howard Fine, de Weldon presented himself to the Actors Studio and garnered the title of Lifetime Member under Al Pacino, Lou Antonio, Barbara Bain, Martin Landau, Mark Rydell, Ellen Burstyn, and Harvey Keitel. The Doors
The Doors were an American Rock music, rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore. They were among the most controversial and influential rock acts of the 1960s, partly due to Morrison's lyrics and voice, along with his erratic stage persona. The group is widely regarded as an important figure of the counterculture of the 1960s, era's counterculture. The band took its name from the title of Aldous Huxley's book ''The Doors of Perception'', itself a reference to a quote by William Blake.
