Santa Lucia Dè Magnoli
Santa Lucia or Santa Lucia dè Magnoli is a Roman Catholic church located on via de'Bardi in Oltrarno district of Florence, region of Tuscany, Italy. History The church had been founded in 1078 dal Cavalier Uguccione Della Pressa. At his death, it was patronized by his sons, Magnolo and his descendants, the Magnoli. A lazzaretto or leper colony, was located nearby, visited by St Francis of Assisi in his 1211 visit to Florence. This church was one of the 36 parishes within the last walls of Florence constructed by 1284–1345. The church has had varied leadership over the centuries, including the Benedictine monastery of San Miniato al Monte until 1246, and the Bishop of Florence after 1373. In 1421, Niccolò da Uzzano patronized the restoration of the church and decoration of the chapel of Lorenzo di Bicci, with scenes from the ''Life of Santa Lucia''. Jacopo Del Sellaio
Jacopo del Sellaio (1441/42–1493), was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance, active in his native Florence. His real name was Jacopo di Arcangelo. He worked in an eclectic style based on those of Botticelli, Filippino Lippi, and Domenico Ghirlandaio. The nickname Sellaio derives from the profession of his father, a saddle maker. According to Vasari, Sellaio was a pupil of Fra Filippo Lippi. In Lippi's workshop he would have met Sandro Botticelli, who had a lasting influence on Sellaio's work. Sellaio joined the Florentine painters' confraternity the Compagnia di San Luca in 1460. In 1472 he was sharing a workshop with Biagio d'Antonio, and in 1473 he formed a partnership with Filippo di Giuliano that he maintained until his death in 1493. Domenico Veneziano
Domenico Veneziano (c. 1410 – May 15, 1461) was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance, active mostly in Perugia and Tuscany. Little is known of his birth, though he is thought to have been born in Venice, hence his last name. He then moved to Florence in 1422–23 as a boy, to become a pupil of Gentile da Fabriano. He is said to have worked with Pisanello in Rome around 1423–1430. His work was influenced by the style of Benozzo Gozzoli. In a letter from him to Piero di Cosimo de' Medici, dated from Perugia in 1438, where he likewise resided for many years, he mentions his long connection with the fortunes of the Medici family, and begs to be allowed to paint an altarpiece for the head of that house. He was a contemporary with Fra Angelico and Fra Filippo Lippi, since those two artists and himself are known to have valued the frescoes of Buonfigli at Perugia. The ''Santa Lucia de' Magnoli Altarpiece'' (Italian: ''Pala di Santa Lucia de' Magnoli'') is a painting by the Italian painter Domenico Veneziano, dated to around 1445–1447. In art, a (; plural: ''sacre conversazioni''), meaning holy (or sacred) conversation, is a genre developed in Italian Renaissance painting, with a depiction of the Virgin and Child (the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus) amidst a group of saints in a relatively informal grouping, as opposed to the more rigid and hierarchical compositions of earlier periods. Donor portraits may also be included, generally kneeling, often their patron saint is presenting them to the Virgin, and angels are frequently in attendance. The term is often used as a title for paintings to avoid listing all the individual figures, although the trend in museums and academic art history is now to give the full list. Agnolo Di Donnino
Agnolo di Domenico del Mazziere (1466–1513), formerly known as the Master of Santo Spirito and sometimes wrongly referred to as Agnolo di Donnino, was an Italian painter and draughtsman of the Early Renaissance. In 1962 the art historian Federico Zeri assembled a group of stylistically similar paintings under the name of the Master of Santo Spirito, referring to the church in Florence where several of the paintings are found. Anna Padoa Rizzo later, in 1991, identified the artist as the brothers Agnolo and Donnino (1460-after 1515) di Domenico del Mazziere, who together operated a workshop in Florence from the early 1480s until the first two decades of the sixteenth century.
