Sant Kabir Nagar (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Sant Kabir Nagar Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 80 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. This Sant Kabir Nagar constituency came into existence in 2009 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002. Vidhan Sabha Segments Presently, Sant Kabir Nagar Lok Sabha constituency comprises five Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments. These are: Mehdawal and Khalilabad Vidhan Sabha segments were earlier part of the erstwhile Khalilabad Lok Sabha constituency. Lok Sabha
The Lok Sabha, constitutionally the House of the People, is the lower house of India's bicameral Parliament, with the upper house being the Rajya Sabha. Members of the Lok Sabha are elected by an adult universal suffrage and a first-past-the-post system to represent their respective constituencies, and they hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers. The house meets in the Lok Sabha Chambers of the Sansad Bhavan, New Delhi. The maximum membership of the House allotted by the Constitution of India is 552 (Initially, in 1950, it was 500). Ambedkar Nagar is a district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This district is a part of Faizabad division (officially ''Ayodhya division'') in the Awadh region of the state. This district was established on 29 September 1995 by carving out parts of the erstwhile Faizabad district (now Ayodhya district). It was created by the then Chief Minister Mayawati and named in memory of Bhimrao Ambedkar, who worked for the advancement of the deprived classes, women and other weaker sections of society. Sharad Tripathi (9 January 1972 – 30 June 2021) was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the state of Uttar Pradesh. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Sant Kabir Nagar constituency in the 2014 general election. Education He completed his Post Graduation from Kanpur University in 1995. 2014 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 elections. Around 23.1 million or 2.7% of the total eligible voters were aged 18–19 years. A total of 8,251 candidates contested the 543 elected Lok Sabha seats. Bhishma Shankar "Kushal" Tiwari (born 30 September 1960) is an Indian politician. He was a Member of Parliament in the 14th and 15th Lok Sabha, representing the Sant Kabir Nagar constituency of Uttar Pradesh as a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party political party. Bahujan Samaj Party
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is a national level political party in India that was formed to represent Bahujans (literally means "community in majority"), referring to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC), along with religious minorities.
