Sanremo Music Festival 1980
The Sanremo Music Festival 1980 ( it, Festival di Sanremo 1980), officially the 30th Italian Song Festival (), was the 30th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia between 7 and 9 February 1980. The final night was broadcast by Rai 1, while the first two nights were broadcast live only on radio. The show was hosted by Claudio Cecchetto, assisted by actors Roberto Benigni and Olimpia Carlisi. Daniele Piombi hosted the segments from the Sanremo Casino, where a number of guests performed. The winner of the Festival was Toto Cutugno Salvatore "Toto" Cutugno (; born 7 July 1943) is an Italian pop singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known for his worldwide hit song, "L'Italiano", released on his 1983 album of the same title. Cutugno also won the Eurovision Song Conte ... with the song " Solo noi". Claudio Cecchetto
Claudio Cecchetto (born 19 April 1952) is an Italian record producer and talent scout. Life and career Cecchetto was born in Ceggia, (metropolitan city of Venice). He has hosted several Italian music festivals, from Festival di Sanremo to Festivalbar, and many television programs throughout his career. Following a spell at Radio 105 Network, he founded the stations Radio DeeJay and Radio Capital. He is also known for being the talent scout for several musical artists and television personalities, including Gerry Scotti, Jovanotti, Fiorello, Sabrina Salerno, 883, Nikki, B-nario, Albertino, DJ Linus, Luca Laurenti, Marco Mazzoli, Daniele Bossari, Fabio Volo, Tracy Spencer, Taffy, Leonardo Pieraccioni, DJ Francis (aka Francesco Facchinetti) and more recent acts like Finley. Enrico Ruggeri
Enrico Ruggeri (born 5 June 1957) is an Italian singer-songwriter. Biography A native of Milan, Ruggeri made his debut in the 1970s with the punk band Decibel. In 1981 he began his solo career and established himself as a songwriter: his most famous success in this latter role is "Il mare d'inverno" ("The Sea in Winter"), brought to chart by Loredana Bertè. He won the Sanremo Music Festival twice: in 1987 with "Si può dare di più" ("You can give more") together with Gianni Morandi and Umberto Tozzi and in 1993 with "Mistero" ("Mystery"). He represented Italy at Eurovision Song Contest 1993 with the song " Sole D'Europa" ("Sun of Europe"). Marco Luberti
Marco Luberti (born 13 February 1941) is an Italian lyricist, record producer and singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Rome, after graduating from the liceo artistico Luberti started studying piano and performing as a keyboardist in a number of beat groups. In the late 1960s he started a fruitful collaboration with Riccardo Cocciante, first co-writing songs for other artists, and in the 1970s, when Cocciante started his solo career, serving as his lyricist and producer. Antonio Coggio (16 May 1939 – 19 October 2021) was an Italian composer, arranger, pianist, and record producer. After his studies at the Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini in Genoa, between 1964 and 1966 Coggio was pianist for Gino Paoli, accompanying him in live performances and in the album ''Paoli dal vivo allo Studio D''.Nicola Sisto. Alberto Cheli (born 2 November 1951) is an Italian singer-songwriter and composer. Life and career Born in Florence into a wealthy family, Cheli studied music from an early age. Leano Morelli (born Ileano Morelli on 1 October 1950) is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician. Life and career Born in Villa Minozzo, Reggio Emilia, Morelli started composing songs at very young age. Put under contract by Phonogram Records, he got his first hit in 1976, with the song "Un amore diverso", which ranked #18 on the Italian hit parade. Francesco De Gregori
Francesco De Gregori OMRI (born 4 April 1951) is an Italian singer-songwriter. In Italy, he is popularly known as "Il Principe dei cantautori" ("The Prince of the singer-songwriters"), a nickname referring to the elegance of his lyrics. Rosalino Cellamare (born 13 August 1953) better known as Ron, is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician. Born in Dorno, province of Pavia, he debuted under his true name at the 1970 edition of the Sanremo Festival, together with Nada. Gianni Morandi
Gianni Morandi (; born 11 December 1944) is an Italian pop singer, actor and entertainer. Early life Gian Luigi Morandi was born in a little village called Monghidoro on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. His father Renato was active within the Italian Communist Party and Gianni used to help him sell the party newspapers. Maurizio Fabrizio (born 16 March 1952) is an Italian composer, conductor, arranger, producer, musician and singer-songwriter.
