Sangwalya Mahidol
Princess Srinagarindra ( th, ศรีนครินทรา; ; 21 October 1900 – 18 July 1995) née Sangwan Talapat ( th, สังวาลย์ ตะละภัฏ; ) was a member of the Royal Thai Family and the House of Mahidol, which is descended from the Chakri Dynasty and was originated by Prince Mahidol Adulyadej. She was the mother of Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Princess of Naradhiwas, King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII), and King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and was the paternal grandmother of King Vajiralongkorn (Rama X). Her formal name and title was Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani ( th, สมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี). In Thailand, she was affectionately called Somdet Ya ( th, สมเด็จย่า), "the Royal Grandmother". Phra Aphai Mani
Phra Aphai Mani is a 48,700-line Epic poetry, epic poem composed by Thai poet Sunthorn Phu ( th, สุนทรภู่), who is known as "the Bard of Rattanakosin" ( th, กวีเอกแห่งกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์). It is considered to be one of Thailand's national epics. With 48,686 couplets, it is listed as the longest Thai single poem. Suthorn Phu started working on this epic fantasy from 1822 and finished in 1844; took 22 years. It is also one of well-known Thai folklores that has been heavily adapted into films and comics. The main protagonists are Prince Aphai Mani, the mermaid, and the Pisue Samutra; a female yaksha, ogress who can transmute herself into a beautiful girl. Wattana Wittaya Academy
Wattana Wittaya Academy (W.W.A; th, โรงเรียนวัฒนาวิทยาลัย; ) is Thailand's first boarding school for girls. It was established in 1878 at the palace of the Third King of the Chakri Dynasty. The original name was Kullasatri Wanglang. It is located in Wattana, Bangkok. History Wattana Wittaya Academy is under the Foundation of the Church of Christ in Thailand. It was founded in A.D. 1874 by the American Presbyterian Mission and was originally named "Kullasatri Wanglang". Located in the Royal Palace which is now within the compound of Siriraj Hospital. It was the first boarding school for girls and the first kindergarten of Thailand. Mrs. Harriet M. House was the first principal.
