Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch () is a political party in Nepal. The party is registered with the Election Commission of Nepal ahead of the 2008 Constituent Assembly election. The party was formed through the coming together of 12 different janajati organisations. The party agitates for the formation of a Limbuwan autonomous region in North-Eastern Nepal. The Sangiya Limbuwan Rajyaparishad is connected to the party. It is the umbrella organization of Federal Limbuwan State Council, Khumbuwan State, Tamagsaling Autonomous State Council, and United Tharu National Front including 13 other ethnic fronts. Federal Limbuwan State Council
Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC) is an active federal supported political party of eastern Nepal led by Kumar Lingden, advocating an ethnic autonomous region for the Limbu people. It is a merger of 5 former political parties: among them Sanghiya Limbuwan State Council, Limbuwan Mukti Morcha (Limbuwan Liberation Front), Sanghiya Democratic Party all representing Mongoloid Kiranti tribes, having come together in August 2014. The region of their activity mostly centers on Madhesi and Terai districts of the Eastern Development Region, Nepal, which they consider their homeland and they consider Kathmandu reneging on a treaty for autonomy dating back to antiquity as they are the indigenous inhabitants, as their land was invaded by Prithvi Narayan Shah in the 1700s. Limbu People
The Limbu (exonym) or Yakthung (endonym) are a Sino-Tibetan indigenous tribe (Bhot-Burmeli) of the Himalayan region of eastern Nepal, Sikkim, and western Bhutan. The original name of the Limbu is ''Yakthung'' () or ''Yakthum''. Limbu males are called ''Yakthungba'' or ''Yakthumba'' and Limbu females are called "Yakthumma" or "Yakthungma". Ancient texts state that "Yakthung" or "Yakthum" is a derivative of Yaksha and some interpret its meaning as the "Yaksha winner". In the Limbu language it means "heroes of the hills" (Yak - hills, thung or thum - heroes or mighty warriors), which connotates with the ancient Kiratis. Subba is a title given by the Shah Kings only to Limbu village chiefs. Subba was not an indigenous Yakthung terminology, but now the two terms are almost interchangeable. 2022 Nepalese Provincial Elections
Provincial assembly elections were held in Nepal on 20 November 2022 along with the general election. 330 seats in the seven provincial assemblies will be elected by first-past-the-post voting and 220 by proportional representation. Electoral system The 550 members of the provincial assemblies will be elected by two methods; 330 will be elected from single-member constituencies by first-past-the-post voting and 220 seats will be elected by closed list proportional representation for parties gathering more than 1.5% of the votes. 2022 Nepalese General Election
General elections are expected to be held in Nepal in November 2022 unless the House of Representatives is dissolved earlier. The discussion is underway due to interest of leading Nepali Congress while the opposition, CPN (UML), is already demanding a fresh mandate. Proportional Representation
Proportional representation (PR) refers to a type of electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body. 2017 Nepalese Legislative Election
General elections were held in Nepal in two phases on 26 November and 7 December 2017 to elect the 275 members of the fifth House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. The 2017 Nepalese local elections were held in Nepal in three phases on 14 May, 28 June and 18 September in 6 metropolitan cities, 11 sub-metropolitan cities, 276 municipalities and 460 rural municipalities. Limbuwan
Limbuwan is an area of the Himalayan region historically made up of 10 Limbu people, Limbu kingdoms, now part of eastern Nepal. Limbuwan means "abode of the Limbus" or "Land of the Limbus".
