Sandy Tabet ( ar, ساندي تابت; born 9 December 1995) is a Lebanese beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Lebanon 2016. She represented Lebanon at Miss World 2016. Pageantry and career Tabet, originally from Bhamdoun, was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She was crowned Miss Lebanon on 22 October 2016. She represented her country at Miss World 2016, but she could not participate in Miss Universe because MTV Lebanon, which held the competition's license in the country, did not send a delegate that year. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Finance from Saint Joseph University. Following in her father's footsteps, she later pursued a career as a jewelry designer. Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on December 18, 2016 at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. Bhamdoun
Bhamdoun ( ar, بحمدون), is a town in Lebanon from Beirut on the main road that leads to Damascus and in the suburbs of the main tourist city of Aley, lying at an altitude of above the Lamartine valley. Two separate villages compose the town, ''Bhamdoun-el-mhatta'' (literally meaning "Bhamdoun the station") and ''Bhamdoun-el-day'aa'' ("Bhamdoun the village"). A railroad used to link Bhamdoun to Beirut with the train station being a prominent feature of the town for many years. The station and railroad were eventually abandoned when cars became more popular. Before the Lebanese civil war, Bhamdoun was one of Lebanon's most renowned and favorite summer resorts. Miss Universe 2016 was the 65th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 30, 2017. This is the second time in the history of the competition that the pageant skipped an entire year, following the 2014 pageant which was held in January 2015. MTV Lebanon
Murr Television, marketed and known as MTV Lebanon, is a Lebanese television station based in Naccache, Metn District. History Founded in 1991 by Gabriel Murr, a Lebanese businessman and politician. MTV was shut down in 2002 as it was found guilty of violating article 68 of the electoral law of 1999 which bans propaganda during the election process but, since other Lebanese channels did not comply with the law either, some observers suspect that the closure was due to MTV’s criticism of the Lebanese government and of Syria.
