Sandy Rummel
Sandy Rummel (born August 10, 1942) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 53, which includes portions of Anoka County, Minnesota, Anoka and Ramsey County, Minnesota, Ramsey counties in the northeastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, Democrat, she was first elected to the Senate in 2006, but was unseated in the 2010 general election by Republican Party of Minnesota, Republican Roger Chamberlain. She was subsequently appointed to the Metropolitan Council by Governor Mark Dayton on March 2, 2011. Rummel was a member of the Senate's Education Committee (of which she was vice chair) and Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications Committee. Roger C. Chamberlain (born January 14, 1963) is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Republican Party, he represents District 38, which includes portions of Anoka, Ramsey, and Washington counties in the northeastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. He is a financial advisor for Thrivent Financial. Early life, education, and career Chamberlain attended Normandale Community College in Bloomington, receiving his A.A.S. in law enforcement. He later earned his B.S. in accounting from Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul. He also served in the United States Navy and in the United States Army National Guard. The Metropolitan Council, commonly abbreviated Met Council or Metro Council, is the regional governmental agency and metropolitan planning organization in Minnesota serving the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area, accounting for over 55 percent of the state's population. River Forest is a suburban village adjacent to Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, U.S. Per the 2020 census, the population was 11,717.
