''Sandy Claws'' is a 1955 Warner Bros. '' Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on April 2, 1955, and stars Tweety, Sylvester and Granny. The Nightmare Before Christmas
''The Nightmare Before Christmas'' (also known as ''Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas'') is a 1993 American stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy film directed by Henry Selick (in his feature directorial debut) and produced and conceived by Tim Burton. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of "Halloween Town", who stumbles upon "Christmas Town" and schemes to take over the holiday. Emma Webster, better known as Granny, is a Warner Bros. Cartoons character created by Friz Freleng, best known from ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' animated shorts of the 1950s and 1960s. She is the owner of Tweety (and more often than not, Sylvester and Hector). Her voice was first provided by Bea Benaderet from 1950 through 1955, then by June Foray for almost 60 years then Candi Milo took over in 2017 following Foray’s death. Biography Granny is a good-natured widow who is extremely protective of her beloved canary, Tweety. Granny's overprotectiveness becomes apparent whenever Tweety is threatened, usually by Sylvester. ''Red Riding Hoodwinked'' is a "Looney Tunes" cartoon animated short starring Tweety and Sylvester. Released October 29, 1955, the cartoon is directed by Friz Freleng. The voices are performed by Mel Blanc and June Foray. The cartoon was Warner Bros.' latest adaptation of the "Little Red Riding Hood" children's story, with the Big Bad Wolf and Granny playing their respective roles, with Tweety and Sylvester taking appropriate sides. Unlike her previous appearances, the usually cheerful Granny here is a female caricature of Ralph Kramden (of television's ''The Honeymooners''), complete with ill-temperedness and use of the catchphrase, "One of these days, one of these days...POW! Right in the kisser!" As such, "Red Riding Hoodwinked" marked one of the earliest parodies of ''The Honeymooners''. June Foray (born June Lucille Forer; September 18, 1917 – July 26, 2017) was an American voice actress. She was best known as the voice of such animated characters as Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Natasha Fatale, Nell Fenwick, Lucifer from Disney's ''Cinderella'', Cindy Lou Who, Jokey Smurf, Granny from the Warner Bros. cartoons directed by Friz Freleng, Grammi Gummi from ''Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears'' series, and Magica De Spell, among many others. Her career encompassed radio, theatrical shorts, feature films, television, records (particularly with Stan Freberg), video games, talking toys, and other media. Foray was also one of the early members of ASIFA-Hollywood, the society devoted to promoting and encouraging animation. She is credited with the establishment of the Annie Awards, as well as being instrumental in the creation of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2001.
