Sandra Sigurðardóttir
Sandra Sigurðardóttir (born 2 October 1986) is an Icelandic football goalkeeper who plays for Valur of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild. Sandra has played for Iceland's national team and was a squad member at the 2009 and 2013 editions of the UEFA Women's Championship. Club career In 2011 Sandra signed for Swedish Damallsvenskan team Jitex BK. A contract dispute followed and Sandra quickly left, but she was not allowed to play for Stjarnan again until FIFA ruled in her favour. In 2016, Sandra signed for Valur. In June 2017, she became the Úrvalsdeild kvenna all-time leader in matches played, after breaking Sigurlín Jónsdóttir's 18-year-old record of 233 matches. The Besta deild kvenna is the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. It features 10 teams that play a double round robin to decide the champion, which qualifies for a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The 2022 season was the first season of the league after it was rebranded as ''Besta deild kvenna''; previously, it had been named Úrvalsdeild kvenna. Sigurður Ragnar Eyjólfsson
Sigurður "Siggi" Ragnar Eyjólfsson (born 1 December 1973) is an Icelandic football manager and former player. He was a professional forward in England and Belgium. From 2007 until 2013 he served as the head coach of Iceland women's national team, guiding them to the 2009 and 2013 editions of the UEFA Women's Championship. Sigurður secured his place in Walsall history by scoring the third goal in the team's 3–1 win over Oldham Athletic in 1999, to secure promotion to the second tier of English football. In August 2013 Sigurður resigned as coach of Iceland's women's team after seven years. He continued in his role as head of education at the Football Association of Iceland (KSÍ) and was looking to move into coaching men's football. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. Þóra Björg Helgadóttir (born 5 May 1981), commonly Anglicised as Thora Helgadottir, is an Icelandic footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Trained at university level in the United States, she formerly played for four seasons with Duke University's women's soccer team.
