Margaretha Sandra
Margaretha Sandra (7 January 1629 in Middelburg – 21 June 1674 in Aardenburg, Zeeland), was a Dutch heroine, known for her participation in the defense of Aardenburg during the two-night siege by the French in 1672. Life Margaretha grew up in Middelburg and Sluis, as the eldest daughter in a family with nine children. By 1672, she had been widowed twice and had married for the third time to Pieter Roman. They were living in Aardenburg, Netherlands. Battle During the weekend of 25 and 26 June 1672, a French invasion force totaling more than 5,000 men attacked the neglected fortress town of Aardenburg, which had only 186 civilians and 40 soldiers to defend it. Sandra (orangutan)
Sandra (born February 14, 1986, in Rostock Zoo in East Germany) is an orangutan, currently living in the Center for Great Apes in Florida after being moved from the Buenos Aires Zoo in 2019. Sandra is a zoo-born, hybrid orangutan of the two separate species of Borneo and Sumatra orangutans. In Germany, Sandra, then called Marisa, was transferred to a second zoo in Germany ( Ruhr-Zoo), then transferred to Argentina on September 17, 1994. In the Buenos Aires Zoo the name of the orangutan was changed to Sandra. Sandra had a baby girl called Shembira or Gembira, who was born on March 2, 1999, and was transferred to Xixiakou Wild Animal Park, Rongcheng, Sandong, China in 2008. During the amparo court case in Buenos Aires in 2015, it was revealed that an attempt by the Buenos Aires zoo to mate Sandra with an orangutan named Max failed because Sandra preferred instead to sit outside in the rain and snow. Șandra (until 1882 Alexandria; hu, Sándorháza; german: Alexanderhausen, locally ''Schanderhaas'') is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of two villages, Șandra and Uihei (''Újhely''; ''Neusiedel''). These were part of Biled commune until 2004, when they were split off. Geography The total area of Șandra commune is about 5,486 ha, of which 492.23 ha represents the built-up area. Local natural resources are oil, natural gas and hot springs. The neighboring localities of the commune are Variaș, Biled, Iecea Mare, Satchinez, Bulgăruș and Lovrin. Climate The climate is continental with weak Mediterranean influences.
