Sande, Møre Og Romsdal
Sande is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Larsnes on the island of Gurskøya. Other villages in Sande include Gursken, Sandshamn, Bringsinghaug, and Voksa. The municipality is the 331st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Sande is the 259th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 2,422. The municipality's population density is and its population has decreased by 6.4% over the previous 10-year period. General information Sande was established as a municipality on 1 January 1867 when it was separated from the large Herøy Municipality. The initial population was 2,493. On 1 January 1873, a part of eastern Sande (with 362 residents) was transferred back to Herøy. Rovdefjorden
Rovdefjorden is a fjord (more precisely, a strait) in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The fjord runs through the municipalities of Sande, Herøy, Vanylven, Volda, Ørsta, and a tiny part of Ulstein. The eastern end of the fjord connects with the Vartdalsfjorden and Voldsfjorden and the western end of the fjord connects with the Hallefjorden. The Syvdsfjorden branches off the Rovdefjorden to the south. The fjord is bounded by the mainland to the south and the island of Gurskøya to the north. The long fjord is about wide, and it reaches a maximum depth of below sea level, near the mouth of the Voldsfjorden. The area around the Rovdefjorden was once part of the municipality of Rovde from 1905 until 1964. The area south of the Rovdefjorden is called Rovdestranda. Eiksund
Eiksund is a village in the municipality of Ulstein, in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located on the southern tip of the island of Hareidlandet. The small island of Eika lies just off the shore from Eiksund. The village is located about southeast of the village of Haddal and about southeast of the town of Ulsteinvik. History Since 1838, Eiksund was administratively a part of the municipality of Sande, despite being separated from the rest of Sande by the sea (see formannskapsdistrikt law). On 1 January 1889, the Eiksund area and the island of Eika (population: 119) were transferred to Herøy. Then on 1 January 1964, Eiksund and Eika (population: 222) were transferred to Ulstein. A surface marker buoy, SMB, dive float or simply a blob is a buoy used by scuba divers, at the end of a line from the diver, intended to indicate the diver's position to people at the surface while the diver is underwater. Two kinds are used; one (SMB) is towed for the whole dive, and indicates the position of the dive group throughout the dive, and the other, a delayed surface marker buoy, DSMB or decompression buoy, is deployed towards the end of the dive as a signal to the surface that the divers have started to ascend, and where they are going to surface. Both types can also function as a depth reference for controlling speed of ascent and accurately maintaining depth at decompression stops. Sand is a granular material composed of finely divided mineral particles. Sand has various compositions but is defined by its grain size. Sand grains are smaller than gravel and coarser than silt. Sande Church (Sunnmøre)
Sande Church ( no, Sande kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the municipality of Sande in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Sande on the southern shore of the island of Sandsøya. It is the church for the Sande parish which is part of the Søre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1880 using plans drawn up by the architect Jon Sefland. The Swiss chalet style church seats about 400 people.
