Sandareds IF is a Swedish football club located in Sandared in Borås Municipality, Västra Götaland County. Background Sandareds Idrottsförening is a sports club in Sandared that was formed in 1925. The club caters for football and boules. Since their foundation Sandareds IF has participated mainly in the middle and lower divisions of the Swedish football league system. The club currently plays in Division 3 Mellersta Götaland which is the fifth tier of Swedish football. Swedish Division 3
Division 3 is the fifth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 144 Swedish football teams. Division 3 had status as the official third level from 1928 to 1986, but was replaced by Division 2 in 1987. It then had status as the official fourth level until 2005, but was replaced once again as Division 1 was recreated in 2006. The competition There are 144 clubs in Division 3, divided in 12 groups of 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 22 games. Borås Municipality
Borås Municipality (''Borås kommun'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Borås. In 1971 the ''City of Borås'' was made a municipality (''kommun'') when the unitary type of local government unit was introduced in Sweden. Three years later many surrounding municipalities were amalgamated with Borås. In 1995 the western part was separated, creating Bollebygd Municipality.
