Sanda Oumarou
Sanda Mallam Oumarou (6 November 1982 – May 2021) was a Cameroonian professional footballer who played as a midfielder for Coton Sport and Egyptian club Al Masry SC. Biography Oumarou first played for Coton Sport FC de Garoua, with whom he reached the final of the 2003 CAF Cup. He played for Egyptian club Al Masry SC between 2005 and 2007. After returning to Coton Sport he helped the club to the final of the 2008 CAF Champions League. He retired from playing in 2012 and became the coach of Cameroonian second-tier side Université FC de Ngaoundéré. He died in May 2021 aged 38 after a long illness. Ngaoundéré
Ngaoundéré, or N'Gaoundéré (Fula: N'gamdere 𞤲'𞤺𞤢𞤥𞤣𞤫𞥅𞤪𞤫𞥅) is the capital of the Adamawa Region of Cameroon. It had a population of 152,700 at the 2005 census. According to the film ''Les Mairuuwas – Maitre de l'eau'' produced by the University of Tromsø, the population has rapidly risen to 1,000,000 (as of October 2016) owing to mass immigration from the Central African Republic and the perceived danger from Boko Haram in northern Cameroon. The city lies at the northern end of the railway to Yaoundé and is also home to Ngaoundéré Airport. Attractions in the city include the Lamido Palace and the Lamido Grand Mosque. The town is named after a nearby mountain on its eponymous plateau; the mountain's name is the Mbum word for "navel mountain". The CAF Cup was an annual competition organised by the CAF for domestic leagues runners-up of member associations who have not qualified to the pre-existing CAF international club competition the African Cup of Champions Clubs. History The tournament was founded in 1992 modeled after the European UEFA Cup. Trophy named after Moshood Abiola, a Nigerian businessman, publisher and politician as well as being the first Director of Sports in independent Nigeria. The CAF Cup was the idea of the current CAF president, Issa Hayatou who successfully made 1992 the year of African football.
