Sand Castles (film)
''Sand Castles'' is a 2014 American drama film directed by Clenét Verdi-Rose and starring Jordon Hodges and Anne Winters. It co-stars Randy Spence, Saxon Trainor, Daniella Grace, Scott Jemison, and Clint Howard. Filming took place in Goshen, Indiana and St. Joseph, Michigan in October 2012. The film had its world premiere on March 21, 2014 at the Gasparilla Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize in the festival's New Visions Competition. The film had its North America release by MarVista Entertainment on February 16, 2016. Premise In rural Indiana, Noah Daly (Jordon Hodges) and his impoverished family wrestle with the mysterious return of his now mute sister Lauren ( Anne Winters), who was kidnapped and held captive for over a decade. Clenet Verdi-Rose
Clenét Verdi-Rose (born February 26, 1982) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter best known for directing feature films ''Skyler'' (2012) and '' Sand Castles'' (2014). Early life Verdi-Rose was born and raised in Falmouth, Massachusetts. His passion for filmmaking began at an early age. He graduated from Wheaton College Norton, Ma. in 2004 as an Arts Honor Student who also studied filmmaking abroad at the Lorenzo de' Medici School in Florence, Italy. Career Verdi-Rose directed and co-produced '' True Guts'', the award-winning documentary film on Crohn's disease recognized with a Freddie Award at the International Health & Medical Media Awards in 2007. Establishing himself as an assistant director working on films such as: Meet Bill (2007), Green Street Hooligans 2 (2009) and Little Birds (2012); he was accepted to the Directors Guild of America (DGA). The Cincinnati Film Festival is a yearly cultural event and international film competition held in Cincinnati, Ohio, supporting surrounding tri-state region. Since 2010, the all-volunteer staff had screened over 1000 submitted films from 36 countries.
