Sanaz (also Sanaaz, ''sânâz'') is a Persian name. The name was borrowed into Turkish as a female given name. In Persian it is composed of ''sa'' meaning "likeness" and ''naz'' meaning "delicate". Sanaz then means "unique and delicate". The composition is similar to that of many other combined Persian female names, such as Elnaz, Golnaz, Parinaz, Sarvenaz. Turkmens ( tk, , , , ; historically "the Turkmen"), sometimes referred to as Turkmen Turks ( tk, , ), are a Turkic ethnic group native to Central Asia, living mainly in Turkmenistan, northern and northeastern regions of Iran and north-western Afghanistan. Sanaz Mazinani (born 1978) is an Iranian–born Canadian multidisciplinary visual artist, curator and educator, known for her photography and installation art.
