San Rafael is a city in the southern region of the Mendoza Province, Argentina. With more than 118,000 inhabitants (), it is the largest city in and the seat of San Rafael Department. The city is located 240 km from the provincial capital and 990 km from the federal capital. Natural attractions in the area include the Diamante River, which flows through the city, the rapids-strewn Atuel River just south and Lake Los Reyunos, 20 km (12 mi) west of San Rafael. San Rafael del Norte is a municipality and a town in the Jinotega department. The town is located north of Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. Elevated at over 3,000 feet, it is the highest town in Nicaragua, which attracts tourists from many countries for hiking, swimming and vacations. San Rafael Municipality is a municipality located in northern Veracruz state in central Mexico. The municipal seat is San Rafael, Veracruz. The area was home to a French immigrant community starting in the early 19th century. French surnames and people with light skin can still be found, although the French language has mostly disappeared. The municipal seat has a museum dedicated to this heritage. San Rafael Pie de la Cuesta () is a municipality in the San Marcos department of Guatemala. A small town of 4,320 residents. Red tiled roofs and abundant flowering trees are found there. It is located 13 km southwest of San Marcos. The English translation of the town's name is "At the foot of the steep slope." That is because the town is found along a winding, steep road from San Rafael which rises from 900 meters to 2500 meters in only 15 km.
