Castel Bolognese ( rgn, Castël Bulgnés) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Ravenna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about southeast of Bologna and about southwest of Ravenna. Pietro Tomba (1774–1846) was an Italian painter. He was born in Faenza. His first training was with his artist father. In 1792 he studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna Bologna (, , ; egl, label= Emilian, Bulåggna ; lat, Bononia) is the capital and largest city of the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy. It is the seventh most populous city in Italy with about 400,000 inhabitants and 150 different nat ... under Angelo Venturoli. He help design the casa Piani-Venturoli in Neoclassicism, Neoclassic style. He helped design the church of the Osservanza (1829–30), San Vitale (1831) e San Sigismondo (1836) in Faenza.
