Leonard Of Noblac
Leonard of Noblac (also Leonard of Limoges or Leonard of Noblet; also known as Lienard, Linhart, Leonhard, Léonard, Leonardo, Annard; died 559), is a Frankish saint closely associated with the town and abbey of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, in Haute-Vienne, in the Limousin region of France. He was converted to Christianity along with the king, at Christmas 496. Leonard became a hermit in the forest of Limousin, where he gathered a number of followers. Leonard or Lienard became one of the most venerated saints of the late Middle Ages. His intercession was credited with miracles for the release of prisoners, women in labour and the diseases of cattle. Traditional biography According to the romance that accrued to his name, recorded in an 11th-century ''vita'', Leonard was a Frankish noble in the court of Clovis I, founder of the Merovingian dynasty. Gallaratese
Gallaratese is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 8 administrative division of the city. It is located about 7 km north-west of the city centre. It borders on the ''comune'' of Pero to the north and on the districts of Trenno to the west and Lampugnano to the south; to the east, its ideal border is the eponymous street, which in turn is named after Gallarate, the town it leads to. San Leonardo is a Romanesque-style Roman Catholic church in the town of Borgomanero, province of Novara, Piedmont, Italy. History A church at the site was built between 1125 and 1150 under the patronage of the Marquis of Pombia. That church served as the first parish church and housed an adjacent hostel for pilgrims. The stone church underwent various refurbishments, and the interior was restored in the 1980s, restoring the interior closer to the original Romanesque appearance and removing additions over the centuries. It is open on Saturdays to visitors. The apse was frescoed in the 13th century by an unknown painter from the workshop of the Master of Angera. San Leonardo is a romanesque-style, Roman Catholic rural parish church located on Via della Chiesa #19/a, just outside of the former castle overlooking in the neighborhood of Artimino of town of Carmignano, province of Prato, region of Tuscany, Italy. History The ''pieve'' church is near the ''Villa Medicea La Ferdinanda''. The church is cited in documents from 998 by Emperor Ottone III. The church was expanded in the 12th century, under the patronage of Countess Matilde di Canossa. In the 14th century, gothic tracery was added to the interior. The bell-tower may derive from one of the watch-towers of the castle. In the 1960s, efforts were made to restore the church to its original romanesque decoration. The walls still contain Etruscan tomb spolia, with some now moved to the local archeologic museum. The belltower was modified in 16th and 17th centuries. San Leonardo in Arcetri is a Romanesque-style, Roman Catholic church located on Via di San Leonardo #25, a few hundred meters southeast of the Porta San Giorgio of Florence, Italy. History A church at the site appears founded just after the year 1000, with a typical hemicircular apse. The facade is made from rustic stone bricks. In the late 19th-century, the church had much of the baroque accretions removed, reverting the interior to reveal the sparse Romanesque elements. The facade has a round oculus in the tympanum. The interior houses a 13th-century pulpit, formerly in the church of San Pier Scheraggio, and transferred here in 1782. That church was demolished during the construction of the Uffizi.
