San José De Las Lajas
San José de las Lajas is a municipality and the capital city of the newly formed Mayabeque Province of Cuba, after the segmentation of La Habana Province in 2011. It is located in the center north of the province, and is bisected by the Carretera Central. It was founded in 1778. Geography The municipality includes the villages of Jamaica, Liberación, Tapaste, Pedro Pi, El Perú, Valle del Perú, Morales, Ganuza, Zaragoza, Nazareno, Comunidad Nazareno, El Volcán, La Ruda, Managuaco and San Antonio de las Vegas. In the municipality there are 7 consejos populares ("popular councils") which include the main town of San José de las Lajas split into Sur ("south") and Norte ("north") and San Antonio de las Vegas, Nazareno, Jamaica, Tapaste, and Zaragoza. Cotorro, or San Pedro del Cotorro, is one of the 15 municipalities (''municipios'' in Spanish) in the city of Havana, Cuba. Arroyo Naranjo
Arroyo Naranjo is one of the 15 municipalities or boroughs (''municipios'' in Spanish) in the city of Havana, Cuba. It became part of Havana city while the capital grew. The Managua Military Airport is located in the southern part of this municipality. History The borough was founded in 1845, and by 1848 its party was created. Arroyo Naranjo is situated south of Old Havana on the Havana-Las Vegas highway, having been a stop of buses that were doing the service between these two cities. Bejucal
Bejucal is a municipality and town in the Mayabeque Province of Cuba. It was founded in 1713. It is well known as the terminal station of the first railroad built in Cuba and Latin America in 1837. It also hosts one of the most popular and traditional carnival fest in Cuba: "Charangas de Bejucal". Bejucal has also been known as a telecomunications site, hosting broadcasts of several news and media networks. It was also host to Soviet nuclear warheads during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Melena Del Sur
Melena del Sur is a town and a municipality located south of the Mayabeque Province, in Cuba. Bordered on the north and northwest by San José de las Lajas, on the east by the municipality of Güines, and west by Batabanó and by the south by the Gulf of Batabanó. In the south shore is located the only beach in the town, Mayabeque Beach. In this beach is the old outlet of the Mayabeque River (called Antiguo Mayabeque). Batabanó, Cuba
Batabanó is a municipality and town in the Mayabeque Province of Cuba. It was founded in 1688.
