San Francisco Waldorf School
San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWHS) is an independent preK–12 school in San Francisco, California. The school is based on the principles of Waldorf education. The kindergarten and grade school are located at 2938 Washington Street and the high school is located at 470 West Portal Avenue. About 50% of students at the high school also attended the grade school, the rest coming from public, parochial, and other independent schools. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib (born April 25, 1990) is a Palestinian American humanitarian activist and blogger. He is the founder and executive director of Project Unified Assistance, a nonprofit organization working towards the establishment of a humanitarian airport in the Gaza Strip, to be run and operated by the United Nations. Early life and education Alkhatib's family is originally from the Gaza Strip. His grandparents had lived in Hamama and Ramla, but were displaced in the Nakba. Alkhatib was born in Saudi Arabia, where his father worked as a United Nations physician. He and his family returned to Gaza in 2000, and his father began working at the Jabalia refugee camp. As a child, Alkhatib hoped to become a politician or diplomat. Eurythmy
Eurythmy is an expressive movement art originated by Rudolf Steiner in conjunction with his wife, Marie, in the early 20th century. Primarily a performance art, it is also used in education, especially in Waldorf schools, and – as part of anthroposophic medicine – for claimed therapeutic purposes. The word ''eurythmy'' stems from Greek roots meaning ''beautiful'' or ''harmonious rhythm''. (“Eu” meaning “well”).
