San Francesco d'Assisi is a baroque-style, former Roman Catholic church located in the town of Oria, province of Brindisi, Apulia, Italy. History The church was erected of acquired shortly after a visit by St Francis himself. Baroque Architecture
Baroque architecture is a highly decorative and theatrical style which appeared in Italy in the early 17th century and gradually spread across Europe. Oria (or ''Orra'', la, Uria; grc, Ὑρία, translit=Huría or , '; he, אוריה, translit=uriya) is a town and ''comune'' in the Apulia region, in the province of Brindisi, in southern Italy. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oria.
