Samurai Sensei
is a 2015 Japanese television drama based on the manga written by Esusuke Kuroe about a samurai who time-travelled 150 years to modern day Japan. The series was broadcast by TV Asahi from 13 October to 11 December 2015. Plot While committing ''seppuku'' during the Bakumatsu period in Japan, Takechi Hanpeita (Ryo Nishikido) finds himself unwittingly transported to modern-day rural Japan. The disconcerted samurai is taken in by a kind-hearted elderly man who runs a tuition centre, much to the dismay of the latter's grandchildren Haruka and Toranosuke. Despite making little effort to conceal his disdain for the Westernisation of his beloved homeland, Hanpeita finds himself slowly adapting to his new life while figuring ways to get back to his wife. Ryo Nishikido
is a Japanese singer and actor. He was formerly under the management of Johnny & Associates as a member of Japanese boy bands Kanjani Eight and News. His first solo album was released in December 2019. Biography Ryo Nishikido was born in Hyogo on November 3, 1984, and raised in Osaka. He was selected as a member of the Johnny's Jr. collective in 1997, and subsequently made his major debut in 2004 as an actor and a singer with pop band News. Ryo N. was also the co-lead vocalist and second guitarist for Kanjani Eight, a Johnny & Associates boy band made up of Johnny's Jr. members originating from the Kansai region in Japan. Sakamoto Ryōma
was a Japanese ''samurai'', a '' shishi'' and influential figure of the ''Bakumatsu'' and establishment of the Empire of Japan in the late Edo period. He was a low-ranking ''samurai'' from the Tosa Domain on Shikoku and became an active opponent of the Tokugawa Shogunate after the end of Japan's ''sakoku'' isolationist policy. Ryōma under the alias worked against the Bakufu, the government of the Tokugawa shogunate, and was often hunted by their supporters and the ''Shinsengumi''. Ryōma advocated for democracy, Japanese nationalism, return of power to the Imperial Court, abolition of feudalism, and moderate modernization and industrialization of Japan. Ryōma successfully negotiated the Satchō Alliance between the powerful rival Chōshū and Satsuma domains and united them against the Bakufu. , (October 24, 1829 – July 3, 1865), also known as , was a samurai of Tosa Domain during the Bakumatsu period in Japan. Influenced by the effects of the Perry Expedition, Takechi formed the Tosa Kinnō-tō (土佐勤王党, Tosa Imperialism party) which was loyal to the ideals of the sonnō Jōi movement. The Kinnō-tō killing of Yoshida Tōyō on 6 May 1862, led to ''sonnō jōi'' becoming the prevalent philosophy of Tosa Domain, but he was later imprisoned and forced to commit '' seppuku'' by the former ''daimyō'' of Tosa Domain Yamauchi Yōdō.
