Símun Samuelsen (born 21 May 1985 in Vágur) is a retired Faroese football striker who played as a right or left winger and current head coach of AB Argir. Jone Samuelsen (born 6 July 1984) is a Norwegian Association football, footballer who plays for Storms BK. Frank Samuelsen (26 February 1870 – 1946) and George Harbo (14 September 1864 – 1909) were Norwegian-born Americans who in 1896 became the first people ever to row across an ocean. Their time record for rowing the North Atlantic Ocean was not broken for 114 years, and then by four rowers instead of two. Background George Harbo Gottleb Harbo Ragnhildrød was born in the community of Sandar in Sandefjord in Vestfold, Norway, on September 14, 1864. Andrass Samuelsen ( da, Andreas Samuelsen; 1 July 1873 – 30 June 1954) was a Faroese politician and member of the Union Party. He was the first Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands after the autonomy of the Faroe Islands in 1948 ( Heimastýrislógin). Andrass was the son of Katrina Malena, born Mikkelsen and Sámal Joensen from Haldarsvík. He was married to Beata Emilia, born Lindenskov from Tórshavn. Between 1906 and 1950 Samuelsen was a member of the Faroese parliament (Løgting). From 1913 to 1916 and 1918 to 1939 he was also a member of the Danish Folketing and he was a member of the Landsting from 1917 to 1918. From 1924 to 1948 Samuelsen was the chairman of the Union Party. Alf Ivar Samuelsen (28 February 1942 – 16 September 2014) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was born in Flakstad as a son of smallholder and fisher Ingleiv Samuelsen (1908–1964) and housewife Amy Pedersen (1906–2002). He received his teacher's education at Bodø Teacher's College from 1972 to 1974, and studied history there as well from 1983 to 1984. Samuelsen was a member of Flakstad municipal council from 1975 to 1987, serving as mayor from 1986 to 1987. Aage Samuelsen, also known as "" 'brother Aage', (23 January 1915 – 29 November 1987) was a Norwegian evangelist, singer and composer. Biography He was the son of factory worker and navvy Karl Hjalmar Samuelsen and Anna Samuelsen née Hansen, a cleaner. He was the third of eight siblings, and grew up in a poor environment in the Bakken neighborhood of Skien. As a child he was often ill and did not learn to walk until he was five or six years old. His mother was musical and bought him a guitar when he was 15. Samuelsen learned to play both harmonica and guitar and sang and composed songs all his life. At the age of 18, he helped start a dance band/jazz band that traveled and performed, including with Excelsior Band. Samuelsen had problems with alcohol abuse at times.
