Samuel Schulman
Samuel Schulman (14 February 1864 – 2 November 1955) was an American rabbi. Biography Schulman was born in Russia; he came to the United States with his family in 1868, and attended the New York City public schools. He graduated from the New York University, College of the City of New York in 1885 and then went abroad where he studied at the Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Berlin and the Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums (Higher Institute for Jewish Studies) from 1885 to 1889. At the latter school, he completed the courses he needed to be ordained as a rabbi. Returning to the United States, Schulman was rabbi in Helena, Montana, from 1890 to 1893, there instrumental in the building of Montana's first synagogue, Temple Emanu-El (Helena, Montana), Temple Emanu-El and at Kansas City, Missouri, from 1893 to 1899. Sam Schulman
Samuel Schulman (April 10, 1910 – June 12, 2003) was an American businessman from New York who was a founding owner and President of the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Association and an owner of the San Diego Chargers of the American Football League, and later the National Football League. Life and career Born to a Jewish family on April 10, 1910 in New York City, Schulman graduated from New York University with a bachelor of science degree in 1932. He earned a master's degree from Harvard Business School in 1934. A year later, he took over George McKibben & Son, a bankrupt Brooklyn bookbinding manufacturer, which he turned into a profitable business. The American Jewish Archives deemed it "the most monumental Jewish scientific work of modern times", and Rabbi Joshua L. Segal said "for events prior to 1900, it is considered to offer a level of scholarship superior to either of the more recent Jewish encyclopedias written in English."
