Samuel Saunders (journalist)
Samuel Saunders (1857–1943) was a New Zealand journalist and newspaper editor. Biography Saunders was born in Nelson, New Zealand, Nelson, New Zealand in 1857 to Rhoda Saunders (née Flower) and Alfred Saunders. His uncle was William Saunders (Liberal politician), William Saunders and his sister was Sarah Page (prohibitionist), Sarah Page. In 1880 he married Helen Johnston who was a granddaughter of William Cargill (New Zealand politician), William Cargill. He was editor of the Lyttelton Times from 1891 to 1914. Sam Saunders (footballer)
Sam Daniel Saunders (born 29 August 1983) is an English professional footballer, who currently plays for Hanwell Town and is assistant coach of Brentford B. He made over 290 appearances as a midfielder in the English Football League, most notably for Brentford and Dagenham & Redbridge. Saunders began his career in non-League football and in 2007 was part of the Dagenham & Redbridge team which was promoted to the Football League for the first time in the club's history. He later made over 200 appearances for Brentford and is a member of the club's Hall of Fame. Samuel Palmer Saunders (born July 30, 1987) is an American professional golfer and the grandson of Arnold Palmer. Early years Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Saunders parents are Roy and Amy (Palmer) Saunders; his mother Amy is the younger daughter of Arnold and Winnie Palmer. Saunders attended high school at Trinity Prep in Winter Park. As a senior, he won his second club championship at Bay Hill Club and Lodge by seventeen strokes, which earned him an invitation to the 2006 PGA Tour event hosted by his grandfather. He attended Clemson University in South Carolina, and skipped his senior season to turn pro. Lawrence Saunders (1519 – 8 February 1555) was an English Protestant martyr whose story is recorded in ''Foxe's Book of Martyrs''. Early life Saunders was the son of Thomas Saunders (d. 1528) of Sibbertoft, Northamptonshire, by Margaret, the daughter of Richard Cave (d. 1538) of Stanford, Northamptonshire, and his first wife, Elizabeth Mervin. He had five brothers, the judge Sir Edward Saunders (d.1576), the lawyer and merchant Robert Saunders (d.1559), Joseph Saunders, and the merchants Blase Saunders (d.1581) and Ambrose Saunders (d.1586), and three sisters, Sabine, wife of the merchant John Johnson, Christian (d.1545), wife of Christopher Breten, and Jane, wife of Clement Villiers. Samuel Saunder
Samuel Arthur Saunder (1852 – December 8, 1912) was a British mathematician and selenographer who taught at Wellington College, Berkshire. In 1894 he became a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, and in 1908 he was made Gresham Professor of Astronomy giving public lectures on the subject. Saunder was one of the first to use photography of the Moon to measure and triangulate its features. He was also responsible for pointing out the confused state of lunar nomenclature at the beginning of the 20th century, and initiating the process of standardizing the names of lunar features.
