Samuel Piette
Samuel Piette (born 12 November 1994) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Major League Soccer club CF Montréal and the Canada national team. Club career Early career Piette began playing soccer at age four with local club Lionceaux de Le Gardeur and later joined Olympique de Repentigny and FC Boisbriand. In 2009, he moved to Europe and joined the youth team of Metz but after French football rules, which state that a player must be 18 to sign a contract with a club, Piette joined Bundesliga youth side Fortuna Düsseldorf on 26 June 2012. The Canada men's national soccer team (french: Équipe du Canada de soccer masculin) represents Canada in international soccer competitions since 1924. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada. They have been a member of FIFA since 1948 and a member of CONCACAF since 1961. The association football tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held from 25 July to 11 August, and was the only sport to begin before the official opening day of the Olympic Games, two days before the opening ceremony. It was also the only sport to be held at multiple venues outside London (the host city of the Olympics), with Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Coventry and Cardiff all hosting matches. The finals were played at Wembley Stadium. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their senior women's and men's under-23 national teams to participate; men's teams were allowed to augment their squads with three players over the age of 23. 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup
The 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the fourteenth tournament of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and the eleventh played since the change in age limits from under 16s to Under 17s in 1991. It was held in Mexico with games being played amongst various venues between 18 June and 10 July 2011. Mexico won the Cup, being the first team to achieve it as hosts defeating Uruguay 2–0 and managing their second title in the category. It was confirmed by the 58th FIFA Congress in Sydney, Australia that Mexico would be the host, beating other bids from the Czech Republic and Iran.
