Samuel Koku Anyidoho
Samuel Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho (born 13 January 1971) is a Ghanaian politician who serves as Founder and President of the Atta Mills Institute. He served as Head of Communications under the Presidency of John Atta Mills from 2009 to 2012. He was also Deputy General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress from 2014 to 2018. Early life Koku Anyidoho was born on, Wednesday, January 13, 1971, at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. His father, Major General Henry Kwami Anyidoho is a retired Major General in the Ghanaian Army whose is mostly remembered for his work during the civil war in Rwanda, and his mother was the late, Mrs. Mercy Abla Mivormawu Anyidoho (Nee Tsegah). Henry Kwami Anyidoho
Henry Kwami Anyidoho (born 13 July 1940) is a former Ghanaian military officer. Biography Henry Kwami Anyidoho was born on 13 July 1940 in Tanyigbe, Ghana. He graduated from the US Marine Staff College in Virginia and the Ghana Military Academy and was commissioned into the Ghanaian army's Signal Corps in 1965. Since then he has served in various capacities in Ghana’s armed forces, including a Commanding Officer of the Ghana Military Academy and Commander of the Northern Command of the Army, as well as numerous UN peacekeeping missions. During the 1994 Rwandan genocide, a Ghanaian contingent led by General Anyidoho was deployed to serve in UNAMIR (United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda) under Canadian General Roméo Dallaire. Anyidoho, who had experience in peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, Cambodia, and Liberia, served as General Dallaire's Deputy Commander in addition to his role as head of the Ghanaian contingent. The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) was established by law in 1968 with a triple mandate as a State Broadcaster, Public Service Broadcaster, and a Commercial Broadcaster in Ghana. Jerry John Rawlings (22 June 194712 November 2020) was a Ghanaian military officer and politician who led the country for a brief period in 1979, and then from 1981 to 2001. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana. Rawlings came to power in Ghana as a flight lieutenant of the Ghana Air Force following a coup d'état in 1979. Prior to that, he led an unsuccessful coup attempt against the ruling military government on 15 May 1979, just five weeks before scheduled democratic elections were due to take place. After handing power over to a civilian government, he took back control of the country on 31 December 1981 as the chairman of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC).
