Also on the property is the contributing family cemetery. It is identical in form to the Murphy-Lamb House. Ingold is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 484 at the 2000 census. History The Samuel Johnson House and Cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Geography Ingold is located at (34.832805, -78.348345). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which 5.2 square miles (13.4 km2) is land and 0.19% is water. Sampson County is the largest county, by land area, in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 59,036. Its county seat is Clinton.
