Samuel H. P. Hall
Samuel Holden Parsons Hall (June 28, 1804 Middletown, Connecticut, Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut – March 5, 1877 Binghamton, New York, Binghamton, Broome County, New York) was an American merchant and politician from New York. Life He was the son of Dr. William Brenton Hall (1764–1809), a physician, and Mehetable (Parsons) Hall (1772–1825), a daughter of Gen. Samuel Holden Parsons (1737–1789). Rev. Jonathan Parsons (1705–1776) was his great-grandfather. On May 14, 1826, he married Emeline Bulkeley (1798–1855), daughter of Captain Charles and Eunice (Robbins) Bulkeley of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. They had five children: Charles Samuel (1827–1910), William Brenton (1829–1856), Josephine Emeline (1830–1857), Theodore Parsons (1835–1910), and Richard Henry (1839–1872). Levi Dimmick
Levi (; ) was, according to the Book of Genesis, the third of the six sons of Jacob and Leah (Jacob's third son), and the founder of the Israelites, Israelite Tribe of Levi (the Levites, including the Kohanim) and the great-grandfather of Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Certain religious and political functions were reserved for the Levites. Origins The Torah suggests that the name ''Levi'' refers to Leah's hope for Jacob to ''Human reproduction#Copulation, join'' with her, implying a derivation from ''yillaweh'', meaning ''he will join'', but scholars suspect that it may simply mean ''priest'', either as a loan word from the Minaean language, Minaean ''lawi'u'', meaning ''priest'', or by referring to those people who were ''joined'' to the Ark of the Covenant. Another possibility is that the Levites originated as migrants and that the name Levites indicates their ''joining'' with either the Israelites in general or the earlier Israelite priesthood in particular.
